This is a free online chat session with some of our Business Data Analytics mentors. Whether you just want to learn more about the business analyst role supporting data analytics initiatives, you are interested in obtaining the IIBA® Certification in Business Data Analytics (IIBA®-CBDA), or you just wish to learn the IIBA Guide to Business Data Analytics this session is for you. Our Business Data Analytics mentors will tell you of their journey to become IIBA Certified, provide tips & tricks related to the IIBA®-CBDA Certification from the application process to re-certification. Whatever you wish to discuss, come let’s talk and ask questions of our CBDA mentors.

David Christy accumulated 19 years experience at John Deere, with a strong emphasis in Business Analysis and Data Analytics for most of that career. Beginning as technical support for their proprietary, mainframe based purchasing system, he advanced with increasing responsibility for a factory to a division then the enterprise. His most exciting achievement at Deere was collaborating with IT and many business departments to create a self service real time data analytics environment leveraging the SAP HANA platform, which improved the work-life balance of thousands of employees around the world by affording them unprecedented access to their own data. Activities and methodologies described in the BABOK and the Guide to Business Data Analytics were instrumental in the success of that and many other projects.
David passed both the IIBA® Entry Certificate in Business Analysis™ (ECBA™) and IIBA® Certification in Business Data Analytics (IIBA®-CBDA) exams in June 2021. He participated in the CBDA Study Group provided by the Bluegrass IIBA Chapter earlier that month, and was inspired to get the ECBA and CBDA Certifications for both professional validation of his past experience and to gain professional networking for future professional development.
He currently lives in northern Kentucky with his wife of 22 years and their four children. He is currently serving another Fortune 100 corporation, helping to build another enterprise data warehouse, using many of the same principles learned on the job at Deere and reinforced through IIBA.
