Building Belonging, Purpose, and Progress
In a field defined by clarity, strategy, and value, business analysts rarely leave their growth to chance. At IIBA East Tennessee, we’re treating our chapter with the same intentionality and insight that you bring to your own work. That’s why our goals are designed to support business analysts at every stage—from those just beginning to explore the field to those leading strategic change in their organizations. Whether you're a new analyst navigating your first role, or a seasoned practitioner looking to deepen your impact, our focus is on building a chapter that fosters belonging, purpose, and progress for all.
1. Boosting Member Engagement & Feedback
Why it matters:
Our members are our greatest asset, and our best source of insight. We're launching quarterly Pulse Surveys to learn directly from you about your needs, preferences, and aspirations. These insights will shape everything from event topics to mentorship opportunities.
What we're doing:
Sending out our first Pulse Survey this month
Publishing our top three member priorities in the May newsletter
Using this input to shape quarterly events and engagement opportunities
How it helps:
By listening first, we ensure every initiative adds real value, whether it's helping David feel more connected to executive-level peers or helping Jasmine navigate her first steps with confidence.
2. Establishing Regular, Transparent Communication
Why it matters:
We’re committed to keeping you in the loop with updates and opportunities. Transparency builds trust, and regular communication ensures no one gets left behind.
What we're doing:
Launching a new Job Board in the May newsletter
Sharing event calendars, role openings, and financial snapshots
Publishing our monthly newsletter (which kicked off in March!)
How it helps:
This gives Jasmine a clearer window into the BA career landscape, and gives David access to leadership roles and visibility on chapter decisions.
3. Creating Meaningful Events & Member Spotlights
Why it matters:
People don’t just want information, they want inspiration. Events create community, and spotlights shine a light on the amazing work our members are doing.
What we're doing:
Hosting a cadence of quarterly events, panels, workshops, and socials
Rolling out a Member Spotlight series (May/June)
Kickstarting our “Study Stories” and career transition content to align with every member stage
How it helps:
These moments energize members like Jasmine who crave visibility and belonging, while allowing senior BAs like David to contribute as subject matter experts, panelists, and mentors.
Laying the Foundation for a Stronger Chapter
These goals aren’t just tasks on a checklist, they’re the groundwork for a chapter that’s inclusive, collaborative, and driven by purpose.
We’re building a space where every member feels heard, valued, and supported, whether you're charting new territory or redefining your impact. Together, we’ll transform uncertainty into action, isolation into community, and potential into progress.
So here’s our full-circle thought:
This chapter isn’t just for you, it’s built with you. And every voice, every story, every engagement, moves us forward, together.
Let’s get to work.
